Paulo Goelzer, Ph.D., President and CEO, IGA Coca-Cola Institute

Dr. Paulo Goelzer joined IGA in 1996.  He focused his attention on international growth, knowledge transfer and the development of marketing programs.  Today, he is the president and CEO of the IGA Coca-Cola Institute, an educational organization providing blended training to 40 countries in five languages.

Dr. Goelzer’s began his career working in his family’s foodservice business.  He went on to become a senior consultant in strategy and food package goods for a German/Brazilian consulting company, a researcher and consultant for the Brazilian Wholesaler Association, and marketing director for a grocery wholesale company.  He served as the international editor for the Brazilian trade journal, Distribuição—contributing numerous articles on management, cross cultural marketing and leadership—and co-authored the textbook Distribuição de Classe Mundial, (IMAM), as well as a chapter in Advances in Global Leadership (Elsevier Science).

Dr. Goelzer was an assistant professor of business strategy and marketing for one of Brazil’s most renowned universities, Pontifical University Catholic, where he twice received the institution’s “Honored Professor” award.  He is an adjunct professor in the Ph.D. program at Benedictine University and a visiting professor at the graduate school of UNISC (Brazil).  He holds an M.S. in Marketing and an M.A. in Economics, as well as a B.S. in Business and a Doctorate in Organizational Development from Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois.
