George Reisch, Brewmaster and Director of Brewmaster Outreach, Anheuser Busch
George F. Reisch, a fifth generation brewmaster, is also the Director of Brewmaster Outreach at Anheuser-Busch, Inc. With his family brewery, Reisch Brewing Co. (in operation from 1849 to 1966), Mr. Reisch fell in love with the art and skill of brewing at an early age. He gained his Bachelor of Science in Food Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin while employed as a brewery worker at Joseph Schlitz Brewing Co. and a research assistant at Miller Brewing Co. He was placed in the Anheuser-Busch Corporate Management Training Program, then was promoted to brewing supervisor, brewing technical coordinator, and staff brewmaster at the company’s Los Angeles brewery before transferring to Corporate Brewing at Anheuser-Busch headquarters.
Mr. Reisch has traveled to Mexico, Brazil and Japan and assisted with new beer brand development. He has hosted hundreds of brewmaster dinners, taught hundreds of brewing schools, and has appeared on several TV and radio programs. Recently, he oversaw production at the five Budweiser-producing breweries located throughout Canada. He is the past president of the Master Brewers Association of the Americas and a tasting judge at both the World Beer Cup and Great American Beer Festival. He is also on the Board of Advisors for the North American Brewers Association. For four consecutive years, Mr. Reisch was named “Large Company Brewmaster of the Year” at Denver’s Great American Beer Festival (2000-2003).
Mr. Reisch and his wife, Kathy, have four children and reside in Wildwood, Missouri.
